Zero Conversion

A supply-chain commitment that no natural ecosystems — forests, grasslands, savannahs or wetlands — are converted for commodity production.

Established · Editorial draft

Definition

Zero conversion is a commitment that commodity production and sourcing cause no conversion of natural ecosystems, extending beyond forests to all native vegetation such as the Cerrado and Gran Chaco. The Accountability Framework initiative defines conversion-free (DCF) sourcing and the cut-off dates and monitoring needed to verify it.
