A claimed state in which an activity's water footprint is reduced as far as possible and the residual footprint is offset through investment in water conservation or restoration.
Definition
Water neutral describes the proposition that the water footprint of a product, organisation or activity can be brought to net zero by first reducing consumption and pollution, then compensating for the remainder through equivalent water-saving or restoration projects elsewhere.
