V20 (Vulnerable Twenty Group)
The group of finance ministers from climate-vulnerable countries, driving debt, finance and loss-and-damage reform.
Definition
The V20 is the Vulnerable Twenty Group of finance ministers, founded in 2015 as the finance-focused arm of the Climate Vulnerable Forum, now representing dozens of economies highly vulnerable to climate change. It advocates for reform of the international financial architecture — debt relief and climate-resilient debt clauses, scaled adaptation finance, the loss and damage fund, and reformed multilateral development bank mandates — and operates programmes such as the Global Shield against climate risks with the G7.
