Definition
UN-Habitat is the United Nations programme for human settlements and sustainable urban development, established after the 1976 Habitat I conference and headquartered in Nairobi. It works with governments and partners on housing, urban planning, basic services, informal settlement upgrading and urban resilience; convenes the World Urban Forum and the Habitat III outcome, the New Urban Agenda (2016); and custodies urban SDG monitoring, including the slum household indicators of Goal 11.
