UK Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR)

The UK's mandatory regime requiring large companies to report energy use and carbon emissions in their annual reports.

Established · Editorial draft

Definition

Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting is the UK framework in force since April 2019 requiring quoted companies, large unquoted companies and large LLPs to report in their directors' or energy and carbon report: UK energy use, associated Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions, an intensity ratio, and energy efficiency actions taken. It succeeded the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme's reporting elements, placing emissions alongside financial statements for around 11,900 organisations.
