Definition
The Transition Plan Taskforce was established by the UK Treasury in 2022 to develop a gold-standard framework for private sector climate transition plans. Its Disclosure Framework (2023) defines good practice across five elements — foundations (ambition, strategy), implementation strategy, engagement strategy, metrics and targets, and governance — built on three principles: ambition, action and accountability. The framework has been adopted as the reference by the ISSB and regulators internationally for assessing transition plan credibility.
