Definition

Reasonable accommodation is the obligation to make necessary and appropriate modifications and adjustments — not imposing a disproportionate or undue burden — to ensure people with disabilities can enjoy their rights on an equal basis with others. Enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Article 2), it applies in employment (adapting workstations, schedules, tasks) and in access to services, education and facilities.
