Established · Editorial draft

Definition

A project boundary is the delineation, in a greenhouse gas mitigation or removal project, of the sources, sinks, reservoirs and gases included in quantifying the project's emission reductions — together with the spatial and temporal extent of the project activity. Boundary definition is a core methodological step under standards such as the GHG Protocol Project Protocol, Verra VCS and Gold Standard.
